Welcome to the Chiurillo Lab

Research in the Chiurillo Laboratory focuses on the study of essential genes that regulate adaptation to the different environments faced by the protozoan parasite Trypanosoma cruzi during its complex life cycle. With our extensive experience in genetically manipulating this organism using techniques such as genome editing by CRISPR/Cas9, we investigate protein kinases as regulators of key cellular processes in this human pathogen.
